2024 Best Ontario Sommelier Competition Prelims

We will be hosting the prelim competitions simultaneously in Ottawa, Niagara-on-the-Lake and Toronto at 12pm on October 8th.

The preliminary competition is a written exam that will take approximately 45 minutes to complete. The people with the top 5 overall scores from this competition will be invited to compete in the Best Ontario Sommelier Competition on November 12th.

The entry fee is simply a $40 donation to the our non-profit organization so we can sponsor the wine education of an aspiring sommelier that requires financial assistance. If you are interested in applying for an education scholarship, email our President Jennifer Wood  at president.on@sommelierscanada.ca and ask for details. All applicants must be CAPS Ontario members in good standing.

The Toronto competition will take place at the Vintage Conservatory on King located at 244 King Street West, Toronto, ON, M5H 1K4.

The Niagara-on-the-Lake competition will take place at Treadwell Cuisine located at 114 Queen Street, Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, L0S 1J0.

The Ottawa location is TBD.
