The MASTER OF PORT – CANADA 2025-2026 competition is exclusively for active sommeliers, members of Canadian Association of Professional Sommeliers/Association Canadienne des Sommeliers Professionals (CAPS-ACSP).
Candidates must be over 18 and have evidence of having worked for at least two years in establishments in one of the following roles in the on and off-trade: sommelier, maître d'hôtel, head waiter, restaurateur, wine store owner or wine merchant. Past winners of the MASTER OF PORT competition are ineligible.

- The link will be live at 2pm EDT and will be open until 3.30pm EDT
- Candidates only need an internet connection. It is not necessary to install any program in order to take the exam
- All candidates will have 1 hour to do the exam within the time slot indicated above. However, as mentioned, the link to the exam the contest is only open until 3.30pm EDT (for example if you log in at 2.30pm EDT, you still have an hour, but if you start at 3pm EDT you only have 30min)
- The exam consists of 30 multiple choice questions, each worth 1 point
- The 30 questions will be the same for everybody, but the order could be different for each person
- If you have the top score in your chapter, you are automatically guaranteed a spot in the quarterfinals. Each chapter will have a representative in the top 6 spots. The remaining 4 spots will be determined by the highest score. Fastest time will determine any score ties.

Within 48 hours after the exam, you will receive the results of your exam, as well as information on whether you have qualified for the Master of Port Canada Quarterfinals in Porto from Oct 12-16, 2025.
